Service Battery x Cycles

Battery Service is showing on my MacBook.

I bought the Mac new on late 2009, the battery was replaced in 2011 under warranty and has now 680 cycles.

Is this normal beaviour? It's suppossed to last 1000 cycles!

My Battery cycles is 780, And is saying " Service Battery" Should i buy now or wait?

I don't have enough money to replace my battery right now. Is it ok to wait a little longer until replacing it? or will it damage my computer if I don't replace right now?

thank you

Macbook Pro 2008 - battery dead after 149 cycles

Hi all,

I am now on my second battery with my late 2008 MacBook Pro. The original battery lasted almost three years and eventually was replaced after it could no longer hold a charge beyond 30 minutes. It had reached a reasonable cycle count around a 1000'ish (can't remember the exact count number).

Anyway the replacement battery was installed on March 11th 2011. I have been doing discharges and charges over this period (once every two months). The problem I have now is the MacBook Pro won't even deal with the battery and shows a X on the battery symbol. This happened about a month ago and now I believe something is wrong but not my fault...

I downloaded coconut battery app and it shows only 149 cycles completed.

I don't think this is normal battery behaviour, any thoughts. It's way out of warranty but given the low cycle count do you think Apple would replace it?

Cheers,

Carl

iPod Shuffle Battery Recharge Cycles

How many recharge cycles should I expect for my ipod shuffle before battery fails to charge? I have charged once or twice/week and in less than 18 months the battery will not charge.  To clarify, the green light goes on indicating that the battery is charged, but the iPod will not play. I turn iPod power on, press the "play" button and the light flashes green then yellow, but iPod will not play.

Macbook Air battery life cycle (1000 cycles)?

Apple claimed that it can do 1000 charge cycles before it goes udner 80% capacity which needs to be replaced, is this true or has anyone experienced battery going bad at just 300 cycles? I have my mac for 7 months now, and if my estimation is correct, then I will do 80charges a year? does that mean that my macbook air battery will last 12 years before the batter needs to be replaced? At first i was expecting to replace the battery after 3 years, I'm actually kinda surprised with the cycle counts i have right now

Defective battery? 200 cycles and zer0 charge capacity.

I had just visited the apple store for service, I was told my battery could not be replaced as I was out of warranty (2011 macbook pro).  However I was looking over battery replacement policies and it states that defective batteries are covered one year after your warranty expires.  The diagnostics showed that I had ~190 cycles but somehow the battery was COMPLETELY depleted, this sounds to me like a defective battery yes?

Does Apple provide a warranty on a replacement battery provided under Out of Warranty service?

Apple will provide a warranty against hardware defects on the replacement battery for one year from the date of the Out of Warranty service. Please note that the battery is a consumable item and after a period of normal use the battery's ability to hold an electrical charge will be diminished. A replacement battery that has failed because it has been consumed via normal use is not covered under warranty.

Is this normal: MBA Mid2012 Battery Health down to 80% @ 184 cycles and 24 weeks usage?

MBA Mid2012 Battery Health down to 80% @ 184 cycles and 24 weeks usage. Is this normal? Also, when I drain down to less than 5% battery indicator tells me to service battery. Should I be alarmed and have it serviced/have the batteries replaced?

Macbook pro early 2011, battery dead only after 62 cycles

I have a Macbook pro 15" early 2011,which battery is almost dead only after 62 cycles.

Model Identifier:          MacBookPro8,2

Charge Information:

  Charge Remaining (mAh):          204

  Fully Charged:          Yes

  Charging:          No

  Full Charge Capacity (mAh):          204

  Health Information:

  Cycle Count:          62

  Condition:          Service Battery

  Battery Installed:          Yes

  Amperage (mA):          0

  Voltage (mV):          11879

I had never paid attention to this problem since it is almost always running on power adapter.

At first I though it was a SW problem, I made some trouble shooting (Including resetting the SMC) but the battery seems to be exausted only after 62 cycles.

The macbook is out of warranty, but it is quite unusual that a battery can be dead only after 62 cycles.

A part for a trip to a genius bar, are there any other possibility that this is a software glitch and the battery is not properly recognized by the ystem?

How much does normally costs to service a battery for this kind of Macbook pro?

Thank you in advance.

Macbook Air 2012 - After 220 Cycles health down to 88 %

Hi there,

My Macbook Air is down to 88 % battery life after just 220 cycles...  I tried everything to get it up again, but nothing helped.

This 12 % is nearly 40 mins of ussage and in many ocassions it´s really needed.

Do you guys know if that´s normal ? I´ve read that Apple guarantee that after 1000 cycles battery is still over 80 %. In my case that doesn´t seem feasibly.

Do you think I´ll get a new one ? I bought it at the Apple Online Store (cause the 8 GB RAM upgrade) but I have a physical Apple Store that I could go to.

Thanks in advance four your help

Is 14 battery cycles possible after 2 days?

I am a complete newcomer to anything Apple having bought a used Macbook Air which I received today and I have to say it is absolutely beautiful and a lovely piece of machinery. However, when I bought the Air I was told by the seller that it had been used for 1 day only and indeed it's first year of warranty finishes on 4 January 2014. However I was surprised to see that the battery has gone through 14 cycles and presume that this means that either it is refurbished or presumably used non-stop since being purchased? Or could it have been purchased but not registered? I have emailed the previous owner and he has said he will refund my money if I wish to return the Air. I'd just be grateful for any thoughts from experienced owners please. Many thanks.
