My ipod wont turn on while charging for 40 minutes!!

I drained my ipod touch, and then i plugged in to my computer. Its been fourty minutes since the charge but it still shows the battery with the charging icon. It has been dropped earlier. and this has never happened before. when i open it, it opens for 10 minutes only. PLEASE HELPPP

13" MacBook, Late 2008, new battery won't hold charge longer than 2hours 40 minutes.

I have a 13" MacBook, late 2008 model.  Just purchased a new battery from Apple.  Fully charged, then full drained, fully charged again, battery will only last 2 hours and 40 minutes.

 

I have also noticed that my trackpad seems to JUMP about 1/2" from where I have the curser located.

 

Currently running 10.7.5 OS.

 

Any sugguestions would be greatly appreciated.

rMBP wakes up on battery every 3 minutes with lid closed for "maintenance wake"

When I go to or from work, I carry my rMBP in a small briefcase.  Recently, the computer has been very warm when I pull it from the bag, even when it has only been in there for 20 minutes or so.

 

Looking at the log, it appears the problem is that the computer is coming out of sleep literally every few minutes, and then overheating and shutting down, and re-awakening a few minutes later.  These are the logs containing the word "wake" from yesterday.  Around 2:50 I woke the computer up, checked my email, unplugged it and put it in my bag.  As you can see, starting around 4:00 (I had not taken it out of the bag yet), it started waking up every few minutes, and soon starts overheating.

 

I have "Enable Power Nap while on battery power" unchecked in my Energy Savers Preferences.  I've tried using the "Restore Defaults" button in that preference pane - it hasn't helped.

 

Note in the logs that the time of the "next maintenance wake" is always the same, and always several hours in the past, for some reason.

 

I cannot think of any configuration or software change that started this.
