My iPod Classic won't turn on or charge?
When I try to reset it, it shows up with a message that says apple.com/support/ipod and won't charge at all. I have tried reseting it several times holding the select and menu buttons.
iPod 120GB Classic Gen 6 won't keep a charge
I recently replaced the battery in my 3 year old Classic. It seems to charge fine and perform well, but after about 2 hours the battery life indicator is in the red. I've had a second battery installed, done a soft reset, and finally a Restore. Same problem--charges fully, then seems to really suck battery life. If I charge it and leave it overnight, it is totally dead--not even an Apple screen. I don't hear any hard drive clicking or notice long access times--in other words, it seems to work fine, only now with a 2 hour life.
Since a second battery is in the unit, I'm guessing the problem lies somewhere else. Maybe the logic board, or the hard drive itself?
Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution? I really like the size and capacity, and I'd hate to have to dump it.

Is my 30 iPod Classic Dead ?
My 30GB iPod Classic is completely dead. It no longer is recognized when connected via USB. It will not take a charge from a wall charger, and it does not respond to the reset (Menu/Select Buttons). I also disconnected/reconnected the battery in the hopes that would reset it. Nothing, just a blank screen. The issue began after being accidently disconnected from a USB connection while charging. The screen has been dark ever since.
Any thoughts on what the problem is? Battery ? Display ? Are there any diagnistics I can do ? Thank you in advance!

My ipod Classic won't turn on or accept a charge
about 6 months ago i dropped my ipod classic (6th generation) and half of the screen went black. It was inconvenient, but the ipod itself worked fine. I continued to use it normally. About a week ago, I walked into my room and heard a loud buzzing sound. It was coming from my ipod. I walked over to it, and the screen was totally black. I tried to turn it off. Nothing. I could get no response. I put it on my iHome, and the buzzing stopped. Ever since then, the ipod hasn't worked. I've tried resetting it, Ive tried plugging it into the computer, I've tried many different chargers. The ipod is unresponsive, doesn't turn on, and nothing will recognize it.

My 80g iPod classic was working fine, the battery wasn't draining unusually quickly and my computer was recognizing it, but I plugged it into my wall outlet last night, the one I charge my iPhone with, and when I checked on it later, it was displaying the yellow triangle, low red bar, and charging please wait screen. I tried plugging it into my computer and it wouldn't show up in itunes and the "charging" screen flashed periodically but never improved. This morning I tried plugging it in again with a different chord and it only appears to be weaker as now the charging screen only appears when it is first plugged in (I have tried leaving it plugged in for a while too). I did notice that when I initially plugged it into the wall charger it displayed a full green bar (rather than the growing green bar) and said charged, despite that the screen had showed that the battery was below the 50 percent mark. I thought, at the time, that maybe the wall device just charged differently and I hadn't noticed before.
Is there any chance this might just be the battery? I have had and frequently used the iPod for about 4-5 years now, so it wouldn't surprise me, but doesn't a dying battery usually manifest itself by weakening significantly? I was still getting hours whereas I've heard near dead batteries won't hold more than 15 minutes sometimes. The only other thing I could think of is that I'm a runner and it's been a hot summer. I lot of sweat has soaked into my armband and appears to have corroded some of the edges around the iPod's frame, near the metal. I wonder if this could have damaged it somehow, maybe gotten through the USB port or something. Has anyone else had this experience with their pod? I would be thrilled if I could just replace the battery, but I don't want to put money into it if it's a lost cause. Any insight would be appreaciated. Thanks.
MacBook Pro iPod classic Auxiliary Cord
Can my MacBook Pro internal speakers play my iPod classic's music using a 3.5mm aux cord? I do not want to use the standard iPod cord because it continuously charges my iPod battery. I simply want to play music directly from my iPod through my MacBook Pro (speakers). Is this possible?

I suppose my first mistake was buying a used iPod, oh well. If worked fine when I got it but had a weak batery which I replaced. It worked perfectly. A few weeks later the right channel went on the fritz; had to jiggle to make it work. MacBook Pro iPod classic Auxiliary Cord
Can my MacBook Pro internal speakers play my iPod classic's music using a 3.5mm aux cord? I do not want to use the standard iPod cord because it continuously charges my iPod battery. I simply want to play music directly from my iPod through my MacBook Pro (speakers). Is this possible?
