Battery Health

This is my first Mac, and is about a year in a half old, I have noticed severely decreased battery lifespan and am curious if anyone can give me some advice on if I should break down and buy a replacement. I have attempted to search around and find out what some of this means, but I haven't had much luck. Conflicting answers regarding the Charge Remaining.. That is such a low number, it has me worried. :\
