After two and a half weeks the battery in my new Macbook Pro retina display 15" has swollen to the point that it has rendered my trackpad useless. I have kept my Macbook well ventilated by keeping it on a hard flat surface at all times and by only charging it when necessary. I have not dropped or damaged my laptop in any way as I have not had to move it from my desk yet. Even though Applecare does not cover batteries, I hope I recieve a free replacement as in most cases this occurs after a period of years. I also hope that Apple quickly addresses this widespread problem instead of trying to make a smaller and thinner product.
ps. I do not want suggestions saying to use an external fan whilst in use because I do not believe that a high priced product should require extra cooling support.
